Bordeaux, mars 1777.<\/strong> Contre les ordres de son Roi et sous la menace d\u2019\u00eatre arr\u00eat\u00e9, le jeune Gilbert du Motier, marquis de La Fayette, s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 traverser l'Atlantique. Il embarque sur La Victoire \u2013 un navire qu'il a affr\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 ses frais, avec \u00e0 son bord un \u00e9quipage et des armes. La Fayette met les voiles sur l'Am\u00e9rique. Son but : combattre pour la libert\u00e9 aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des r\u00e9volutionnaires am\u00e9ricains.<\/div>

Ce voyage est la premi\u00e8re pierre de ce qui deviendra une alliance politique, \u00e9conomique, culturelle, historique\u2026 entre la France et l\u2019Am\u00e9rique. C\u2019est \u00e9galement une source d\u2019inspiration cl\u00e9 pour le lancement de Two Worlds Whiskey.<\/div>

La Fayette arrive en Am\u00e9rique en juin, apr\u00e8s sept semaines de travers\u00e9e. En France, son d\u00e9part cause une vive \u00e9motion. Nombreux sont ceux qui admirent l\u2019ardeur et le courage du jeune marquis, sa pers\u00e9v\u00e9rance, son amour de libert\u00e9. L\u2019engagement de La Fayette fait m\u00eame changer la France de posture, qui s\u2019engage officiellement dans la guerre de lib\u00e9ration \u00e0 partir de 1778.\u00a0<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, mon anc\u00eatre William Downard rejoint la r\u00e9volution qui se poursuivra encore plusieurs ann\u00e9es. Avec le soutien de la France, les \u201cPatriotes\u201d sont finalement victorieux. La guerre se termine en 1783 par le Trait\u00e9 de Paris.\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Apr\u00e8s la guerre, William Downard se lance dans le whiskey. En 1795, il d\u00e9m\u00e9nage dans le Kentucky, l\u2019Etat dans lequel je verrai le jour bien des ann\u00e9es apr\u00e8s. Ici, deux fr\u00e8res fran\u00e7ais ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un nouveau style de whiskey vieilli dans des f\u00fbts de ch\u00eane bousin\u00e9s \u2013 une technique utilis\u00e9e pour le vieillissement du cognac depuis des si\u00e8cles. Ce nouveau style de spiritueux devient tr\u00e8s populaire aupr\u00e8s des Fran\u00e7ais habitant La Nouvelle-Orl\u00e9ans, o\u00f9 il est alors connu sous le nom de \u201cBourbon Whiskey\u201d.<\/div>

Au fil des si\u00e8cles, ma famille continue \u00e0 honorer fi\u00e8rement l\u2019alliance franco-am\u00e9ricaine. Le 26 mars 1777, l\u2019acte de courage d\u2019un jeune Fran\u00e7ais a forg\u00e9 une alliance qui changea \u00e0 jamais le destin de mon pays, ma famille et ma passion : le whiskey am\u00e9ricain. C\u2019est donc tout naturellement que j\u2019ai souhait\u00e9 rendre hommage au voyage inaugural de La Fayette en Am\u00e9rique \u00e0 travers la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition de Two Worlds Whiskey.<\/div>

Une \u00e9dition cr\u00e9\u00e9e sp\u00e9cialement pour l\u2019alli\u00e9 historique de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique : la France. Un Straight Bourbon Whiskey \u00e9l\u00e9gant, complexe et \u00e9quilibr\u00e9. Une petite cuv\u00e9e de seulement 11 f\u00fbts soigneusement selectionn\u00e9s et assembl\u00e9s. Un whiskey d\u00e9lectable avec des notes de caramel beurre sal\u00e9, tarte tatin, cr\u00e8me p\u00e2tissi\u00e8re, poire fra\u00eeche, abricot, noix de muscade, cannelle et clou de girofle. Son nom ? \u201cLa Victoire\u201d, comme le navire de La Fayette.<\/div>
